If you want a good food processor for your kitchen, the Philips HL7707/00 is a decent option. It is priced attractively and competes well with its competitors like Preethi Zodiac, Inalsa, Usha, and Bajaj.
Overview

PHILIPS HL7707/00 750W Mixer Grinder
Choosing the ideal food processor for the home can be challenging because excellent models like Usha, Preethi, Inalsa, Philips, and Bajaj are available on the market. This Philips model, HL7707/00, is suitable for your kitchen because it is economically priced and can perform multiple kitchen jobs conveniently.

The wet grinding performance is on the lower side because of the smaller 1.0L multipurpose jar. The Preethi MG218 is better because it offers a separate 1.5L wet grinding jar. Nevertheless, the Usha model was the best performer of all the food processors we tested.
The noise levels can get uncomfortable at full speeds. Nevertheless, the Philips HL7707/00 is suitable for your kitchen because it offers a good processing unit.

Motor

The Philips HL7707/00 works on a robust 750W motor that delivers a decent performance. The engine comes protected in a sturdy ROHS-compliant ABS plastic body. The machine has three-speed controls and a separate whipper option for whipping lassis, buttermilk, and cream. The rotation speed is excellent at 20,000 rpm.
This motor features Gear Drive Technology that allows RPM reduction for performing low-speed operations. It makes this machine suitable for slicing and shredding vegetables. The Preethi MG218 is better at dicing vegetables than the Philips HL7707/00.
The motor makes noise, and we measured it to be approximately 85 dB to 90 dB. However, the machine seems quiet when working at slower speeds. Overall, the engine is efficient and guarantees excellent performance.

Philips HL7707/00 – Food Processing Performance
The Philips HL7707/00 delivers a good food processing performance. The machine comes with a 2.2L polycarbonate food processing jar. Though the jar build quality is unsatisfactory, the device performs decently.

This machine works on Gear Drive Technology, allowing the motor to function at varying speeds according to user demands. Therefore, the shredding and slicing activities are excellent. This machine features different blades for slicing and shredding vegetables. In addition, the pusher arrangement allows you to push vegetables gently to enable perfect shredding and slicing.

This food processor attachment is best for slicing carrots, tomatoes, and onions. The blades are sturdy because they are made of 1.4mm thick steel. However, they are sharp. So users should be extra careful when handling them. Since the slicing and grating are precise, the vegetables do not become mushy. This arrangement is perfect for grating beetroot and carrots for preparing halwa.
The polycarbonate body is of weak build and prone to cracking. In addition, the food processor jar is permanently fixed to the jar lock. In contrast, the Preethi Zodiac MG218 is better because it can be unlocked, making the jar more flexible.

The food processor has different attachments for grating vegetables. However, it can chop vegetables efficiently. Besides, the atta kneading attachment is suitable because you can knead around half a kilo of chapati dough comfortably and quickly without messing your hands with flour.
Mixer Grinder Performance

The Philips HL7707/00 features two mixer grinder attachments, including a 1.0L multipurpose jar and a 0.4L chutney jar. Unfortunately, this machine does not offer a separate wet grinding jar. But the multipurpose jar allows wet grinding of idli and dosa batter in small quantities. So if your family requirements are less, you can use it for wet grinding.
The advantage of this attachment is that the blades are removable. Therefore, you can have different blades for wet and dry grinding. In addition, the dry grinding performance is excellent because of the 1.4mm thick blades.
The multipurpose jar is also handy for dry grinding. The motor is powerful enough to grind challenging ingredients like turmeric, dry ginger, and garlic. This jar is also helpful in preparing onion paste and tomato purees. However, it does not extract coconut milk properly as it leaves a lot of residues.

The chutney jar’s performance is excellent because you can make vegetable pastes efficiently. We tried preparing different chutneys using this jar and found the performance outstanding. Coconut, gram, and coriander chutneys come out beautifully smooth in this grinder.
The stainless steel jars are 0.6mm thick, which is a significant drawback. The jars get heated quickly. But the handles are sturdy, enabling users to grip the containers comfortably.
Juicer Performance
The Philips HL7707/00 food processing jar has a citrus juicer attachment. Besides, the machine features a 1.5L juicer jar for extracting fruit juices from soft fruits and vegetables. The juicer’s performance is decent. But there are chances of seeds getting crushed with the liquid. Therefore, we advise removing seeds from fruits like papaya, apples, and others.
Safety and Durability

The Philips HL7707/00 features an overload protection feature. The machine stops functioning if it senses an overload. You can reduce the load and reset the overload switch located at the machine’s bottom before restarting the operations.
Secondly, the Philips HL7707/00 has sufficient air vents to dissipate heat quickly. Finally, this machine has suction feet to grip the kitchen platform firmly. However, the suction power is less, and users must press the device firmly to allow a decent grip on the platform.
The Philips HL7707/00 features a 1.2M power cord with a 2-pin plug. In contrast, the competitor models like Bosch, Preethi, and Sujata have 3-pin plugs with proper earthing.
Though the blades are robust, the kneading blade is weak. As a result, it could require frequent replacements. The gaskets can also become loose with continuous usage.
The Philips HL7700/07 has a sturdy and durable design. But there is a significant flaw. This device has a spillway at the top of the coupler where you fix the jar to the machine. This spillway allows fluids to flow out of the coupler easily. However, the Philips and Preethi models have narrow spillways that are challenging to clean, even using a toothbrush.
Cleaning

The Philips HL7707/00 components are dishwasher safe. But we do not advise washing the jars in the dishwasher because they can get scratched. Polycarbonate jars are prone to damage and can even crack. So the best way to clean them is in the kitchen sink.
We recommend running the machine with soap water for a minute to let the residue come off quickly. Subsequently, it becomes easier to wash the components under tap water. The food processor attachments are removable. It enhances the cleaning ability.
The juicer jar attachments are also easy to disassemble. But we recommend not using abrasive scrubbers as they can damage the filters. Instead, rinsing the juicer jar components with plain water can help remove all fruit pulp residue.
The ABS plastic body is convenient to clean using a damp towel. However, we suggest users be careful when cleaning the undersides because water can seep into the motor and cause electrical short circuits.
Warranty and After-sales service
Philips offers a 2-year product warranty on the machine. Besides, the motor has a 5-year warranty. Extended warranty facilities are available in select areas. Philips has an excellent after-sales service network, and you get hassle-free home services at some places.
Final Thoughts
The Philips HL7707/00 is a decent performer that is reasonably priced. So it is a good investment in the kitchen. However, we only recommend this machine if you wish to use the wet grinder sparingly because of the small size jar. It is better to invest in a separate wet grinding machine. Otherwise, this food processor offers total value for your money.
